Hormonal problems

Hormonal regulation

We are not specialists for endocrinology or fertility problems and we do not directly treat problems of this sort, however...

Many scientific studies have shown that the function of the Cranio-Mandibular-System has a staggering effect on hormonal regulation. (Koboyashi, Y. et al. Influence of the Occlusion on the Human Body. Phillip Journal 5, 255-263 (1998).Scientists have examined the influence that a 0.1mm thick artificial contact can have on just one tooth. It was discovered that the hormone levels of several important hormones (steroids, catecholamines) were drastically changed within days. This study proved the relationship between functional problems of the Cranio-Mandibular-System and hormone regulation.

Whatever negatively effects a system can also be used to have a positive influence. We are aware of this fact from our own experience. Despite these facts being well known for many years, it is still either very underestimated or even ignored by our medical colleagues and also by members of other healing professions.

Whilst treating the Cranio-Mandibular-System and optimizing its function we have often encountered dramatic improvements particularly in women struggling with fertility. This has been a very positive "side effect" of the orthodontic treatment for many women.

How is that possible?

The truth is, we don't know either! In some cases, it seems to have been clear that  treating the Cranio-Mandibular-System properly has  simultaneously positively influenced the fertility in women.
It is not yet possible to confirm whether or not such an influence on other hormonal problems is possible, as only a small amount of research has been undertaken at this point.
