This is a difficult question to answer right away as the correct time to begin the treatment is dependant upon each individual case. We begin with the so called "interceptive treatments" in special cases as early as around the age of 4 years. Ask us about the right time for your child to begin treatment.

These insurance programs generally offer basic coverage for children and adolescents under the age of 18 as well as adults with special malocclusions, so called "severe dentofacial anomalies" which also require simultaneous maxillofacial surgical treatment. However, not all cases with severe dentofacial anomalies are covered, neither are all of our diagnostic and special treatment procedures. During the first consultation, you will receive comprehensive information concerning the different payment and financial options available to you.

No. Fixed braces and removable braces have very different functions and goals. In many cases it is not possible to interchange the two and expect the same result. Please ask us wether your orthodontic problem can be solved properly with Invisalign or may need fixed orthodontic braces.

Can every type of orthodontic treatment be achieved using the "Bionator"?

No. The Bionator is an effective treatment tool for only about 20% of clinical cases. The Bionator is very successful in the cases that are appropriate for its use. However, we advise using caution when it is offered as a "heal all" treatment method.

Is an orthodontic treatment with fixed braces painful?

In the first 3 -7 days after braces are applied, a small degree of discomfort may be noticed. However, any pain that may be occasionally felt  disappears completely within days. Technology and treatment methods in the orthodontic field have progressed enormously in the last number of years to the point where up to 50% of all patients do not notice any pain or discomfort at all.

After removal of fixed braces, is marking or damage of the teeth probable?

No! When proper care of the teeth and braces has been  undertaken throughout the entire treatment period, it is impossible to see any changes to the teeth. Electronmicroscopical changes to the teeth also disappear within weeks of the treatment as the body replenishes the minerals of the tissue.
